Do We Really Need An Emptying The Mind?

What does this really mean?

We often hear this phrase and many people struggle to achieve an 'empty mind' so give up before they even really beginning.

Here's the thing. The mind is meant to be active. It is meant to create. It can not help it. It's the nature of the mind. But if we can find space in the mind and not fill it - then we are experiencing an empty mind.

Our job starts by managing the mind before it wears itself out. So we need to give it something to attach its attention whilst we watch what distracts it from that focus.

It's not easy ... yet the best and most magical thing we can do.

Our job is to turn down the noise of distraction - in a loving way. Acknowledge the distraction and then file it so we can go back to watching the mind.

And then by simply watching and repeating the process brings us into the beginnings of a mindful meditation and clearing the debris.

This process of clearing the debris creates space between thoughts. Those moments of space between thoughts could be described as an empty mind.

Then we have choices.

We can aim to expand the space; fill the space with something of our choice; go on 'journeys', explore self, resolve problems, seek inspiration. We guide the mind into a tunnel of discovery of our choice. And this can create a very unique understanding of self, others, the world and curiosity about other realms. And mainly peace.

I noticed the demands of life prevents most people from this intoxicating experience of peace.

However, with time, all is possible. And most important is staying in the moment AND patience.

Evolving Peace
